Amazed In Thailand!

1. Holy Buddha Im here Batman!

I met a couple in Nepal from Bangkok-they said if you are ever in Thailand come see us…So I did – shout out to Beeu and P’Nui! an amazing soulful couple they took me to some of their favorite spots for food and drinks, Temples, parks and their beautiful chilled out home, their home was so relaxing I never wanted to leave it-she has a website called one love.stone check it out she started creating gem art because of depression, it is gorgeous and peaceful. Her husband is into graphic art and if you find her you will find him, or go to Instagram @uncle.nui his work is pretty unique. They took me on my very first Tuk-Tuk ride and turned me on to a cool tattoo place called Common Ground, I had a tramp stamp that did not age well- the entire time I was in Bangkok and especially at the tattoo shop I felt like I was in a Quentin Tarantino movie- I felt automatically cool just being there. I stayed at a place called the Montien Riverside Hotel and folks I don’t know why you gave bad reviews but this place had everything, sure it was dated and not the closest to exactly everything but this place was like a palace and two blocks from an amazing interactive mall that every floor was literally a different Country Terminal 21 I took a Taxi or taxi bike if I wanted to go somewhere and when I got back it was peaceful, they had Cafe, coffee kiosk, bar and grill outside gigantic pool, massage, sauna and on and on, shame on you bad reviewers! Oh by the way if you go to Sala restaurant in Bangkok you can see directly across the river where the movie Hangover was made, enjoy a cocktail and watch the sunset.

2. Sleeper Trains Rock!

Got a ticket and took a train from Bangkok to Phuket I could have flown there in one hour but I wanted this experience, I was in an overhead sleeper much like for luggage in airplanes they gave me a cozy blanket and actually it was a very comfy rest, I did not sleep because I was just too excited. If you forget to eat no worries, people hop on at stops and sell drinks and food. The shocker for me was the bathroom just a hole in the floor no flush, um.. at bit challenging on a moving train. I keep forgetting to mention this but Marijuana is now legal here!

3. Booking Hotels….Well..

Well let me just say I don’t book Hotels like an expert it’s kinda of been off the cuff, that being said, you bad reviewers out there are assholes, I have mostly stayed at 2 and 3 star Hotels, my rooms sometimes very plain, some offering you nothing, like no TV, no water, no kettle no soap and so what? The properties have been amazing, and like wise if the property is not amazing the locations have been. If you want 5 star then book 5 star your bad reviews are preventing people from having a really great vacation/journey experience. I stayed at Sai Rougn Resident SHA plus in Patong Zero regrets, they have a shuttle to take to to the beach and if you miss it, take blinged out pimp my ride style Tuk Tuk. I chose the Hello Kitty theme with pink neon lights. The hotel offers a simple yet nice buffet, pool, good food, beer, pool table and massage. The portions in Asia are small if you want large everything, go to a big chain hotel and pay for the buffet you will not be disappointed. I spent the entire day at the beach for the Festival of Lights and hit up a big chain hotel for the Buffet. The Festival of Lights was a beautiful experience, just amazing. My hotel was out of way 10 min but it was like a quiet oasis after all day with traffic, noise and the constant influx of people.

4. Krabi

Krabi was ok but it felt the same a Phuket so I didn’t stay long, I stayed at the T2 hotel in Ao Nang again up on a slight hill 10 min from the beach, the place was an upbeat hip vibe, and for 19.00 USD I again have no complaints, WiFi never worked so I went to the hotel next door and asked them for password. The hotel next door was also cool and had a great chill vibe with great coffee and happy hour, it kind of felt like I got the best of both worlds. I took a motorcycle Taxi and must have been a little too excited, my driver must have thought I was nuts, these taxies have a steel Frame and can seat five people at once. Again I ate at local places once in a small alley between kitchen booths and a makeshift bar. Taxi bikes charge 100.00 Bhat I walked down the hill took Taxi back up.

5. Took the ferry to Ko Phi Phi

Another wonderful experience! From the ferry ride there to the Island its self, Saw Thai boxing and wow it is just Beauty in brutality, went to the famous beach from the movie the beach ( I had no clue about this place.) Went snorkeling for the first time in my life! Saw seven sharks! Went to monkey beach. Rented a kayak one day in the oceans clear gracious waters. Had Long Island ice tea (very potent) drank it in the ocean. Saw a fire show which included fire jump roping for the Partiers, it was so fun! My favorite part about Ko Phi Phi is there were no cars and very few motorbikes- the shop keepers don’t pressure you, and my hotel was low key great! I stayed at P2 Wood Loft it was super chill, No pool, not too many amenities but hell I was within walking distance to everything and I mean everything, and the beach was literally a 3 min walk. My biggest disappointment was arriving by ferry and the very first thing I saw was a fucking Burger King. can you Corporate fucks just not be in one place, I mean really! Local food eat at a place called The Garlic.

6. Took a plane to Chiang Mai

Wow this place was another level! the food (if local) was off the chain. I always look for place the locals are eating if possible, and thus far I have never been disappointed, why go somewhere new if you are going to eat the same shit you can get at home? I don’t get it. Because of tourist you get places that have Italian, Japanese and Thai food and the results are disgusting ( at least to me it was) on occasion I went to western places and they sucked ass. The clothing for sale was a higher quality than all the seaside places and cheaper. In Chiang Mai I went to some famous White Temple, the Blue Temple and the Black temple. I went trekking in the jungle to a waterfall, fed elephants, took a bamboo raft down a river, went to a village of Burmese refugee’s living in Thailand (Thai’s call them long necks) I had no idea I was going there, but I don’t regret it, if you go please don’t just take pics as so many did, buy something from them.

7. Took a boat to the Golden Triangle

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and in this case it. was the Golden Triangle Burma, Laos, and Thailand all facing each other by a shared river- took the boat across the river had a shot with the Laos- They are building a huge city there thanks to the Chinese, they are calling it Laos Vegas (cute) and from the looks of it this place will soon be on everyones radar or bucket list. Stayed at a place called the Lanna Thaphae Hotel in Chiang Mai again not too many amenities but clean safe and close to everything! Im not exactly clear if it was okay to be in Laos I was told that it was fine, buuuuuuuut it felt a little bit naughty.

8. Be Careful…

Booked another hotel but it was a fake hotel, and it was on Priceline, the picture was great but it was a mall NOT a hotel, made a complaint and cancelled it or at least tried to- long story short be careful—also tried to visit my friends village but was taken to a different location ended up in the middle of nowhere in Chiang Dao, had limited funds and literally walked into a mom and pop Oasis, I had just enough funds to stay the night eat breakfast and dinner buy two big bottles of beer and catch the bus back to Chiang Mai sitting on the floor next to the open doors it was great! Huan Chiang Dao Resort it was a happy mistake. Honeymooners on a budget and love to hike don’t miss out on this place! My favorite place was also another happy accident, after being dropped off at the bus station I didn’t know where I was, after walking some ways I looked down an alley, saw what looked like maybe a hotel and it was! it was a gorgeous Thai hotel with an amazing pool, food and atmosphere the place was ornate and dated but very well kept AND also within walking distance to the area that I had already stayed, the room was simple the place quiet and relaxing 700.00 Bhat a night, local restaurant down the alley to the left superb! Coffee shop across the street delicious as well as experimental. My hotel was the Chang Peuk Hotel do not miss out on this place! My Guru’s said, We must be transformed.
